Tanja Cigoj:
Anamarija Samec (born 1977) is a sociologist which worked like a nurse in the hospital - before she finished her study at the secondary medical school. Her desire for artistic expression she began to enforce more engaged a few years ago when she began to attend courses JSKD, led by academic painter Klemen Brun. As a member of DSAT (society of painters) Tolmin, whose mentor is in the domain Academic painter Jana Dolenc, she is present in various workshops organized by them. Up to this time, she has been represented in three solo exhibitions (Štanjel, Izola, Tolmin), and since 2007 she has participated in eleven group exhibitions and in 2009 at the international exhibition Incontri d'Arte in Malborghetto in Italy.
Her curiosity, desire for learning and discovering new knowledge, accompanied by the need to express the variety of materials, exploring various painting techniques and the intervention of the diversity of thematic fields. Within the creative research she is trying to raise of the disadvantaged, the daily lives of marginalized issues and problems of contemporary society. Multi-annual engagement with marginalized and stigmatized groups, people with disabilities (such as companion to disabled persons), with older and the sick, it has inherent experience and attitudes of her perception of life in general.
The drawings, paintings and collages, created in the last four years, are shown primarily as a reflection of learning and taught at the art events and as a response learned and lived with people with whom she has crossed from the old to the new thresholds. Her thoughts reflect internalized reflection on the current flow and internal processes are the result of response to specific situations and the interactions of people (and herself), that find themselves in the latter. In search of light – Anamarija Samec - she also prefers her favorite black and white which is in its true glory actually the culmination of color – it needs to reach especially in the dimension of depth. Males is trying in her painting experiments to escape the figurative, avoids even the depiction of the results of human prejudice to its environment. A is actually facing the person, because it's more or less recognizable and perceived image also occurs unintentionally internalized within the scenes of landscapes and signed by a mental awareness.
